Black Theatre Ensemble
Black Theatre Ensemble (BTE) was founded in 1979, focused on preserving, sharing, performing and celebrating episodes of Black American cultural heritage. In addition to their main-stage production throughout the year, BTE hosts several “coffeehouses” as a forum for self expression and exploration. nomadictheatre
Nomadic was founded in 1982 with the express intent of providing a thought-provoking, socially conscious and intellectually challenging theatre experience. Nomadic is known for conquering technically-complicated shows with a focus on design. As their logo and name suggest, they do not have a designated performance space, though frequently stage their productions in either the Walsh Black Box or Devine Studio Theatre in the Davis Performing Arts Center. GU Children’s Theatre is arguably the University’s most socially-conscious theatre group. The club’s focus is putting on fun, kid-friendly performances at schools and hospitals, where children might not otherwise be exposed to theatre. Explore their season here!
