Calliope VI: They Went That-a-Way

Picture

The wagon train, under Wagon Master Woodrow T. McQuirk's leadership, heads west from St. Louis in search of new lands and new homes. Some, like Jamie Clark and McQuirk's laughter, Laura, hope to find a new life as well. The pioneers are led across the frontier by Wayne Stewart and Fred, the Wonder Horse. In addition to the hardships of the trail, the pioneers, such as the Widow Peabody, have to face the danger presented by Bart Black and his band of villains. During an Indian attack on the settlers, the badmen abduct Laura. Wayne, Fred, and Jamie finally catch up with Bart and his men in Yuma City at the Cowboy Pub. Miss Lil, who runs the saloon for Bart, sees the place destroyed in the fight which frees Laura. Everything ends happily when Jamie and Laura are married, Mr. and Mrs. McQuirk become reunited, the badmen meet their just rewards, and Wayne and Fred "ride the sunset trail again."
